The Colorado Petroleum Council issued the following statement regarding the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Air Quality Control Commission’s new rule.

“Our industry continues to focus on our commitment to responsible development of energy resources in a manner consistent with protection of the environment, public health and safety,” said Colorado Petroleum Council Executive Director Tracee Bentley in an e-mailed statement. “Colorado is among the leading producers of oil and natural gas in the country and has a well-established process for including all scientific, energy, health and environmental experts – key elements of successful rule-making.

“We applaud the Division’s staff for their commitment to this process and affirming our shared goal of decreasing emissions.”
