Former Vice President Mike Pence has been hired as a visiting faculty member at Colorado Christian University, the Lakewood-based private evangelical university announced Tuesday.

Pence will be on campus about once a month during the 2026-2027 school year to give lectures, host classroom discussions, and engage with students. The role builds upon his other work with CCU, including participating in an online summer course on American conservatism.

“It is an honor to join Colorado Christian University, an institution firmly committed to academic excellence, Christian truth, and the principles that have sustained our nation since her founding,” Pence said.

A born-again, evangelical Christian, Pence served as Governor of Indiana and represented the state in the U.S. House of Representatives before becoming Vice President in 2017.

He visited CCU last week for the Western Conservative Summit, during which he spoke with Colorado Politics reporter Ernest Luning about his concerns with the Trump administration and the current state of the Republican Party.

It’s important, as attention turns to the next presidential election, Pence told Colorado Politics in an exclusive interview, for Republicans to “focus on what we’re for, before we focus on who we’re for.”

“I really do believe, at the end of the day, America is a conservative country on balance, and that the American people deserve a party that hews to those principles of a strong defense, limited government, traditional moral values,” he said. “And we’re going to be championing those in the Republican Party in the days ahead.”
