Second public meeting on Aurora’s Havana corridor scheduled

As part of a yearslong effort to improve Havana Street from Dartmouth Avenue to Montview Boulevard, the city of Aurora is hosting a second virtual public meeting Feb. 17 to get feedback on proposed improvements.

The goal is to improve the historic corridor’s “walking, biking, transit, riding and driving.”

“These recommendations will be refined based on input gathered at this meeting, and will guide future improvements on Havana Street when funding is available,” according to a statement.

You can take a look at the plans and register for the Zoom meeting at the city of Aurora’s website.

Groups working to complete the study include: Havana Business Improvement District, the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Regional Transportation District, the Denver Regional Council of Governments, nearby neighborhood organizations, and the city and county of Denver.

“The study will create a corridor vision, goals, brand enhancements, land use framework and recommended transportation improvements that recognizes the diverse needs of Aurora’s residents, business owners, visitors and traveling public,” the release states.
