Denver invites residents to test drive electric vehicles
Denver residents can test drive electric vehicles at a city event Sept. 19.
The event is part of the citywide program called “Pass Gas” that aims to encourage the use of electric vehicles to reduce pollution and combat climate change.
The Department of Public Health & Environment will partner with local dealerships to offer test drives between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sept. 19, officials said. The event will be located on Bannock Street between 14th and Colfax avenues.
There are almost 400 electric vehicle charging stations located in Denver and over 2,000 statewide. Electricity costs less than half of gasoline, according to the city’s website.
“Shrink your contribution to climate change and help improve the air we breathe by passing gas and driving electric,” the city’s website exhorts.
