Gov. John Hickenlooper to talk international security Tuesday night in Denver

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper is sounding like a national candidate again. Two weeks ago he was in Washington talking about a bipartisan national healthcare plan. Tuesday night he’ll talk international security in Denver.

The governor’s office said Hickenlooper will welcome Prince Feisal Ibn Al-Hussein, the son of the late King Hussein of Jordan, Tuesday nightat The Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver.

Unless you already have tickets, you’re out of luck; the event is sold out.

The visit is part of a national security forum called Crisis and Clarity in the Middle East.

Catherine Herridge, the chief Intelligence correspondent for Fox News, will moderate the event put on by the Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (CELL) in Denver as part of its global security speaker series.

The forum also will include Dennis Ross, a Middle East adviser to five U.S. presidents.

Colorado has partnered with Jordan since 2004 in the National Guard State Partnership Program to improve the military capabilities of allies in the region.

“In light of current security challenges in the Middle East, the National Guard State Partnership Program is more important than ever.” Hickenlooper said in a statement Monday morning. “We are eager to hear from the expert panel on what the future holds for the Middle East and how it will impact Jordan, the U.S. and Colorado.”
