The Pueblo Chieftain: Vote Maes, Voss for school board

The board of education for Pueblo City Schools (D60) needs change agents. In the November election, we believe there are two candidates who are best equipped to challenge the status quo and set the board on a course for a brighter future. They are Dennis Maes and Taylor Voss.

Our two recommended candidates have very different backgrounds. Maes is a 72-year-old retiree who spent 24 years as a district judge, including 17 years as chief district judge. He has been involved in a number of community organizations and has worked extensively to combat school truancy. As a citizen activist, he was also one of the leading critics when former school superintendent Constance Jones was fired under questionable circumstances.
