Vacation not probation with pot clubs, says Senate GOP
Call this what it is, bias. I’m surprised it’s Senate Republicans driving a bill for pot clubs. Sens. Vicki Marble of Fort Collins and Tim Neville of Littleton says it’s commonsense and good business, not reefer madness.
Neville and Marble are as soft on crime as a hanging judge. Senate Bill 63, however, would create a licensed, regulated club to use marijuana much like a bar.
Amendment 64 gave people the right to get high, like it or not, dude.
“We have never addressed giving these people a place to legally ingest or smoke what they buy,” she said, referring to visitors who want to get high legally, except for a legal place to do it.
Neville said communities can opt out if they don’t want pot clubs.
“The one thing we do not want in this state is for people to come on vacation and leave on probation,” Marble said.
The bill is up for its first hearing Wednesday at 1:30 before the Senate Business, Labor and Technology Committee.
