Glenn forms consulting firm for conservative causes, candidates
Former Republican U.S. Senate candidate Darryl Glenn has formed a political consulting firm to help promote conservative causes and elect future conservative candidates.
Called DLG Esquire Attorney at Law, Glenn said in a news release on Monday, Nov. 28, that his life “will not be defined by a single political campaign.”
“Those will come and go,” Glenn said. “But what has driven me to run for elected office in the past still drives me today. The knowledge that heroes do walk among us with tremendous strength and power. And I look forward to helping them realize their aspirations to change our world for the better.”
Glenn failed to unseat Democratic U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet in the Nov. 8 general election, after winning the Republican primary election.
In an interview, Glenn said the work ahead will help continue the themes in his campaign for the Senate.
“We learned a lot in the campaign and throughout my political life and we want to share that with people interested in the issues that we feel must be addressed,” he added. “We feel it was important to continue the momentum we gained in the campaign.”
DLG Esquire consulting will help strategic policy makers, businesses and neighborhood leaders in implementing innovative solutions to growing community challenges. The DLG team will walk clients through the complicated process of making an initiative, social enterprise or campaign a reality.
“It’s the same type of work at the grassroots level and how the message is conveyed,” Glenn said of promoting a candidate, an issue or initiative.
“My experience as a county commissioner has taught me that the best ideas often come from our neighbors, church groups and community. But turning a great idea into a reality takes knowledge and ability,” said Glenn in the news release.
“My passion is empowering individuals to change not only their own lives but to positively impact their communities,” co-founder Jane Northrup Glenn said in the release. “Together, I know we can make a difference. I am excited to take on this new challenge because there is so much that can be done if the right people are tackling the challenge together.”
DLG Esquire will be located in Colorado Springs but will accept clients from across Colorado and increase staff as clients need, Glenn noted.
Glenn is a graduate of Doherty High School in Colorado Springs. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Air Force Academy, a master’s degree in business administration from Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts, and a Juris Doctor degree from New England School of Law in Boston. Glenn retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel after 21 years of combined active duty and reserve military service.
Glenn was appointed to the Colorado Springs City Council in June 2003, elected to serve a four-year term in April 2005 and re-elected to another four-year term in April 2009. In November 2010, Glenn was elected as an El Paso County Commissioner and re-elected with over 80 percent of the vote to another four-year term in November 2014. This year, he won the Colorado Republican party primary election for U.S. Senate.
Glenn is a licensed attorney in Colorado with a focus area in public policy and campaign management consulting and family law.
