Longtime Colorado TV, radio and newspaper personality to join the Gazette, Colorado Politics as columnist

TV, radio and newspaper personality Jon Caldara will be joining Colorado Politics and The Colorado Springs Gazette as a weekly digital and print columnist.

“It is an honor to advance my writing addiction to another level, joining Colorado’s most successful and respected publications,” Caldara said.

The veteran journalist hosts “The Devil’s Advocate with Jon Caldara” on Colorado Public Television, and is also president of the Independence Institute.

“Jon Caldara will entertain and inform a large, influential and growing statewide audience in both Colorado Politics and the Pulitzer Prize-winning pages of The Gazette,” said Wayne Laugesen, editor of The Gazette’s editorial pages. “Jon has been a key figure in the public policy process for decades, known statewide and nationally.”

Colorado Politics’ Managing Editor Linda Shapley was also heartened by the news.

“Our mission is to provide the public with diverse viewpoints from the left, right and center,” she said. “We look forward to Jon Caldara’s unique, unpredictable voice inspiring robust, respectful, civilized dialogue among people who love Colorado and value the state’s diverse population and perspectives.”

Caldara most previously wrote a column for The Denver Post, which he began in 2016.

Caldara’s first column will appear Sunday, Feb. 9, in The Gazette, and will also be available at Colorado Politics, both online and in its weekly print magazine.
