Denver Mayor Michael Hancock reports for jury duty

No one is exempt from being called on for jury duty, not even public officials.

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock was summoned to a Denver courthouse Tuesday to go through the selection process.

Hancock tweeted out a photo of his summons Tuesday morning.

Hancock later updated his Twitter followers that he was not selected to be a juror.

“Though not selected for a jury this time, I am proud of our system that guarantees the accused, a trial by jury of their peers,” he wrote on Twitter. “Justice starts with all of us, willing to show up and serve. See you next time!”
