Colorado Springs Gazette: Kennedy supporters blast pro-education Democrats

A new ad blasting Democratic gubernatorial candidates raises red flags. Intentionally or not, it criticizes better outcomes for children of color and the poor.

In a $1.1 million ad placement, Teachers for Kennedy casts U.S. Rep. Jared Polis and former state Sen. Mike Johnston as foes of public education. The group, like the teachers union, supports former State Treasurer Cary Kennedy in the Democratic primary.

Unlike Polis and Johnston, Kennedy has no teaching background. A professional politician, she opposes modern school reforms and warns against expanding school choice.

Polis and Johnston have improved public education, making the ad campaign an absurd contradiction of facts.
