Boulder restaurant ads quoting Trump removed following complaints
BOULDER – Advertisements for a Boulder restaurant that quoted President Donald Trump’s tweets were pulled from seven kiosks in downtown Denver.
The Daily Camera reports the ads created by TDA Boulder for Hapa Sushi paired screenshots of Trump’s tweets with the restaurant’s logo and the slogan, “Eat well before it all ends.”
The kiosk ad spaces along the 16th Street Mall are managed by the Downtown Denver Partnership and the advertising company Orange Barrel Media.
Partnership officials say the restaurant declined to change the ads, so they were pulled.
TDA media supervisor Heather Lee says the reason given for pulling the ads was “due to citizen complaints that we were stating the world was going to end.”
Restaurant owner Mark Van Grack says the ads were intended to be fun and humorous.
