The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel: D51’s bold move

Any question that Ken Haptonstall is the right person to lead Mesa County Valley School District 51 into a new era of accountability and student achievement was answered Tuesday when he announced a plan to shake up a stale administration.

Haptonstall, who took over for longtime Superintendent Steve Schultz over the summer, had a busy fall getting his feet wet and playing a key role in enlisting the community’s support for a bond measure and mill levy override.
