Colorado judicial departments paid $55,000 to pair of sexual harassment victims in past five years
Colorado has paid a combined $55,000 in the past two years to a pair of women who had alleged sexual harassment within the state judicial branch – one of them an employee there, according to records obtained by The Denver Post.
In addition to those settlements, which state judicial officials disclosed after a request by The Post, eight other investigations into allegations by female employees who said they were sexually harassed have been conducted since 2012 and resulted in the resignation of five other workers who were targets of those inquiries.
Separately, two judges have also resigned in that time – one of them in February – rather than face certain discipline for alleged misconduct that included sexual harassment. The payments were not related to those cases.
