The Loveland Reporter Herald editorial: Loveland-owned broadband carries risks

The Colorado Municipal League and Colorado Counties Inc. many times are rivals on public policy issues, but on one issue they agree: their constituencies overwhelming approve of government having a role in providing broadband Internet service.

In each election in which voters have been asked to override legislative rules regarding broadband service, voters have not only approved of the measures but have done so in overwhelming fashion.

In Loveland and Larimer County, voters have allowed their respective governments to explore providing broadband service either through their own efforts or through a contractor.
