The Fort Collins Coloradoan editorial: Transparency can stop bias from taking root

Fort Collins Police Services in January released body-mounted camera video from an officer-involved shooting in August 2016.

The video was the first of its kind to be captured and shared by police in Fort Collins, and the editorial board, at the time of its release, acknowledged the efforts to create transparency.

When appropriate, we expect the same from a Fort Collins police department that is trying to find its way in the wake of allegations of discriminatory and retaliatory practices.
