Trump tickets on sale for Colorado Republicans to have a ball

If you’re like Gov. John Hickenlooper, you’re probably not getting an invitation to celebrate Donald Trump’s inauguration in Washington.

The Lincoln Club of Colorado has just the fix, Hick. Republicans will have a ball-a Jan. 20 ball at Marriott Denver Tech Center. The cost is $110 person. That’s a bargain when you figure a Donald Trump Signature Collection necktie goes for one-fifty,  A necktie, not even Trump’s, comes with complimentary champagne.

The celebration also comes with a meal, a 22-piece band and free parking. Tickets are available online.

Walker Stapleton, the state treasurer, and Dan Percefull are the ball’s sponsors, Stapleton and his wife, Jenna, lead a list of “hosts.”

Stapleton is a top Colorado Republican tabbed by Capitol insiders as a strong contender for governor in 2018. He also is a cousin to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who is no friend of Trump’s after a bruising primary.

Other hosts are Secretary of State Wayne Williams and his, Holly; former state Senate President John Andrews and his wife, Donna; Dan Caplis; Bo and Lynne Cottrell; Matt and Theresa Dunn, and KNUS radio host Craig Silverman and his wife, Tish.

Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman also is a host, but her husband, U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman, is not.

Coffman, like Hickenlooper, the Democratic governor and close Hillary Clinton ally, had nothing good to say about Trump during the campaign. “Honestly, I don’t care for him much,” Coffman said in an ad for his own race, vowing to stand up to Trump or Clinton.
