UPDATE: CO Electoral College vote delayed amid standoff over oath

Lawyers for dissenting Colorado Democratic electors Polly Baca and Robert Nemanich are balking over an oath their clients have been asked to agree to by Secretary of State Wayne Williams. Williams, who is presiding over today’s pending Electoral College vote by Colorado’s nine presidential electors, had pressed for a new oath to compel the holdout “Hamilton Electors” to cast their votes for the winner of Colorado’s Election Day popular vote, Hillary Clinton, as required by law and reinforced by a state District Court ruling last week.

Williams was told by the court this morning he would have to issue a new formal rule in order to impose a new oath, and he did so. However, the attorneys for Baca and Nemanich are still holding out. We’ll keep you posted.
