You are invited to a sit-down with GOP’s legislative leadership
Colorado Republicans will hear, officially, from their legislative leaders at a Capitol Club Luncheon Jan. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Maggiano’s Little Italy in the Denver Pavilions downtown. The event is open to the public, and the $50 tickets are available online.
“These events are a great opportunity to hear directly from leading Republicans in the state legislature about their plans to deliver economic growth and responsible resource development for middle-class Coloradans,” said Colorado GOP Chairman Steve House.
The roster is expected to include Senate President-designate Kevin Grantham of Canon City, Sen.-elect Kevin Priola of Henderson, House Assistant Minority Leader Cole Wist of Centennial and Rep. Polly Lawrence of Roxborough Park.
Republicans maintained a one-seat majority in the state Senate after this year’s election, but they remained the minority in the House. That gives each party ample opportunity to block the other’s partisan bills, but it also will require them to negotiate to make progress on such major issues as transportation and social safety-net programs, as well as energy development and regulation.
