House Democrats line up committee leadership

House Democrats announced their committee leaders for the next two legislative sessions Thursday afternoon:

Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Resources: Chairwoman Jeni Arndt, of Fort Collins, Vice Chairwoman Diane Mitsch Bush of Steamboat Springs.

Appropriations: Chairman Dave Young of Greeley, Vice Chairwoman Millie Hamner of Dillon.

Business Affairs and Labor:  Chairwoman Tracy Kraft-Tharp of Arvada, Vice Chairwoman Faith Winter of Westminster.

Education: Chairwoman Brittany Pettersen of Lakewood, Vice Chairwoman Janet Buckner of Aurora.

Finance: Chairman Dan Pabon of Denver, Vice Chairman Mike Foote of Louisville.

Health, Insurance and Environment: Chairwoman Joann Ginal of Fort Collins. Vice Chairwoman Daneya Esgar of Pueblo.

Judiciary: Chairman Pete Lee of Colorado Springs, Vice Chairman Joe Salazar of Thornton.

Local Government: Chairman Steve Lebsock of Thornton, Vice Chairman Paul Rosenthal of Denver.

Public Health Care and Human Services: Chairman Jonathan Singer of Longmont, Vice Chairwoman Jessie Danielson of Wheat Ridge.

State, Veterans, and Military Affairs: Chairman Mike Foote of Louisville, Vice Chairwoman Susan Lontine of Denver.

Transportation and Energy: Chairwoman Diane Mitsch Bush of Steamboat Springs, Vice Chairwoman Faith Winter of Westminster.

Last month Democrats elected Crisanta Duran of Denver to be the speaker of the House and Rep. K.C. Becker of Boulder was elected House majority leader. Alec Garnett of Denver will be the next assistant majority leader, supported by Pettersen as whip, Jovan Melton of Aurora as deputy whip,  Esgar as caucus chair and Arndt as assistant caucus leader.

The Democrats also released their full committee assignments. Republicans have not yet announced their appointments. As ColoradoPolitics.com did with the Senate, we’ll run the full list of committee assignments once they’re complete.
