Letter: Sanders is right, let’s focus on small campaign donors

Editor:

In response to the piece discussing Senator Bernie Sanders’ trip to Colorado, seeing that Sanders demands to remove big money – Super PACs, large donations – from politics is a big step towards the principal of one person, one vote.I see the problem of large money and its influence on elections, this “money primary” that is held decides who even has a chance of running before any votes are placed. The system only allows for candidates with large campaign funds to have a chance of running, which is why lots of candidates have a hard time gaining support without large contributions. The system is broken regarding campaigns and is unable to allow for good candidates without the large individual donations to run. The system needs to focus on small donors rather than large ones.
