CHATTER: Thurlow votes excite recall talk
Our sources tell us rookie GOP Rep. Dan Thurlow’s recent votes have already incited talk of a recall among the hard-cores, a full three months before the move can start up. Seems the Mesa County lawmaker has been throwing in with – gasp! – Democrats on some House votes lately, raising the

ire of rock-ribbeds and others who cry “RINO!” after a story in the hometown paper and a post on the liberal Colorado Pols blog brought attention to the rogue Republican.
Colorado “has another Democrat mole in our state legislature pretending to be a Republican,” wrote Adams County activist Jen Raiffie in a Facebook post. She went on to list offending votes by Thurlow: voting against a bill to protect business who refuse to provide services against their religious beliefs, voting for a bill to ban “gay conversion” therapy, opposing Republican-led measures to roll back vehicle registration late fees and voting nay on an elections bill backed by GOPers.

Rep. Dan Thurlow, R-Grand Junction.
It’s time, Raiffie said, to “contact Rep. Thurlow and let him know that the days of RINOs selling out the Party are over. We need to stop this guy before he does any more damage.”
Not too early to start a “recall Dan Thurlow exploratory committee,” replied Tom Bjorklund, who resides in Thurlow’s own backyard. While an official recall can’t happen until someone’s been in office six months, Bjorklund continued, it’s time to test the waters, organize door-to-door squads and “design logos.”
Bjorklund confirmed he’s kicking the tires on the idea, and if social media shares and likes count for anything, he’s got plenty of support.
Thurlow, sources tell us, remains unfazed. Since he ran on a promise of “Try[ing] Something Different,” no one should be surprised he’s governing that way.
