US Rep. Lauren Boebert’s son arrested, faces charges of sexual exploitation of child
U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert’s son Tyler Boebert has been arrested and faces charges of sexual exploitation of a child, according to court records.
The case originates out of Garfield County in Western Colorado. Tyler Boebert, 21, faces five counts in total: three charges of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. All of the charges are felonies and are alleged to have happened in 2024.
The Denver Gazette has requested the arrest affidavit from the Garfield County courts. He was arrested last week by the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
This is not the first time Tyler Boebert has had a run-in with the law. He was arrested in 2024 and charged in connection with a string of thefts after he and several friends allegedly broke into cars and stole debit cards, gift cards and cash.
Tyler Boebert is scheduled to appear in Garfield County District Court on Aug. 19 and remains free on a $10,000 bond.
Boebert, a Republican, was elected to the U.S. House in 2020. Her district includes much of the eastern portion of the state, including Douglas County and Loveland.
In a statement, Boebert said she takes the allegations against her son “very seriously.”
“I love my son. We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time.”
