Inmate found dead in El Paso County jail ID’d

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office has identified a county jail inmate who was found dead in her cell on Thursday.

Paula Orth, 47, was found unresponsive in her cell at 6:47 p.m. Thursday, officials said. Jail personnel and emergency responders attempted life-saving measures for more than 40 minutes before Orth was pronounced dead at 7:40 p.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office.

No signs of foul play or self-harm were found, officials said. The cause of death has not yet been released.
