News: The 34th Colorado Cowboy Poetry Gathering, set for Jan. 17 and 18 at the Buffalo Rose Event Center in Golden, will feature a lineup of award-winning performers, including:
3 Trails West, whose vintage Western music blends humor and harmony
Floyd Beard, the International Western Music Association Male Poet of the Year, whose verses capture life on the ranch
Valerie Beard, the International Western Music Association Female Poet of the Year
Patty Clayton, an award-winning Western swing and buckaroo vocalist
Doug Figgs, a Wrangler Award-winning Western music vocalist
Kacey and Jenna, 18-year-old twin vocalists who harmonize and yodel
Peggy Malone, an Emmy-winning entertainer with over 60 years of performances under her belt
Danny McCurry, an authentic cowboy poet with a knack for humor
Terry Nash, an acclaimed poet who lives the ranching life he writes about
The Russellers, whose family-friendly music and poetry captures ranch life
“During the gathering, cowboy poets, Western singers and even old-fashioned yodelers will bring to life the joys and challenges of the Old West,” says media contact Jerry Cunningham, adding that cowboy poetry is a tradition born from cattle drives and ranches that began around campfires where cowboys would share tall tales, poems and folk songs after long days in the saddle.
