NATIONAL JEWISH HEALTH

Denver

News: You never know who is going to show up for National Jewish Health’s popular fundraiser, Rev the Runway. Denver’s movers and shakers for sure, but you shouldn’t be surprised if a sports celebrity is in the crowd.

This year, it was Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana and his family. Montanta spent 16 seasons in the NFL, leading the San Francisco 49ers to four Super Bowl victories and taking home the Super Bowl’s Most Valuable Player award three times.

What brought him to this Nov. 7 cocktail party, fashion show, and auction held at Mercedes-Benz of Denver? The Montana family, including wife Jennifer, son Nathaniel, and daughter-in-law Jaclyn, is friends with the Wallunas family, the in-laws of Chloe Dinsdale Wallunas, whose mother, Joy Dinsdale, chaired the event. Siblings Chloe Dinsdale Wallunas, Jillian Dinsdale Schmidt and Julie Dinsdale were the co-chairs.

In 2023, Denver Nuggets power forward Aaron Gordon didn’t just make an appearance, he brought along several autographed basketballs to be auctioned off.

Rev the Runway 2024 began with cocktails, silent auction bidding and taste treats from Safta, Le Bilboquet, EDGE at the Four Seasons Denver, Ocean Prime, Narrative and Eddie V’s.

Following a live auction with items that included a two-day adventure at New York Fashion Week and a fly-fishing excursion to the luxurious Elk Creek Lodge in Meeker, Co., the attendees enjoyed a Neiman Marcus fashion show produced by Margaret Merritt, who has staged key events in various key cities for the high-end store and noted designers. The styles fresh from Paris, Milan, and other fashion capitals provided a look at what’s hot in today’s market and a preview of what is expected to fly off the racks in 2025.

The sold-out event ended with DJ music and more food and drink.

The $385,000 raised will help offset the uncompensated care National Jewish Health provides each year, which was some $44 million last year alone.

This year’s supporters included Annabel Bowlen, Sunny Brownstein, Goldie Cohen, Karen and Richard Monfort, Nancy Sagar, Amy Zaterman, Kristen and Marc Holtzman, Arlene and Barry Hirschfeld, Rosalina Diecidue, Cindy Farber, Debra McKenney, Abby Perlmutter Miller, Deana Perlmutter, Carla Valdez, Lisa Walko, Larina Chen-Mehta, and Quinn Washington.

About the organization: National Jewish Health was founded 150 years ago and today is the world’s only facility dedicated exclusively to groundbreaking medical research and treatment of patients who come from around the world with respiratory, cardiac, immune and related illnesses.
