National Philanthropy Day awardees named | NONPROFIT REGISTER
ASSOCIATION OF FUNDRAISING PROFESSIONALS

News: Eleven awards, ranging from Outstanding Large Business to Lifetime Achievement, will be presented on Nov. 7 at the Association of Fundraising Professionals Colorado Chapter’s annual National Philanthropy Day Luncheon.
The 2024 honorees are:
• Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck Denver, Outstanding Large Business
• Hartford Homes, Timnath, Outstanding Small Business
• Chinook Fund, Denver, Outstanding Foundation
• Outstanding Philanthropists, Jeanne and Dick Saunders, Denver
• Outstanding Professional Fundraiser, Chelsea Carver, Denver
• Outstanding Volunteer, Curtis Fulton, Lone Tree
• Outstanding Service Organization, Arcani chapter of Lambda Sigma Upsilon, Greeley
• Outstanding Youth, Copland LaBerge, Westminster
• Outstanding Youth Group, Brighton Youth Commission, Brighton
• Lifetime Achievement, Lauren Casteel, Denver
• Inspiration: Arc Thrift Stores, Denver
The winners were selected by community leaders who represented diverse experiences, perspectives, opinions, and cultures within philanthropy. They reviewed 45 nominations and selected 11 winners based on their commitment to philanthropy, volunteerism and positive impact on their community.
Gerry Rasel, associate director of annual giving for Volunteers of America Colorado, chaired the 2024 selection committee and described the upcoming luncheon as “A wonderful celebration of service and selflessness.”
The Outstanding Youth and Outstanding Youth Group will each receive a $3,000 scholarship from the Boettcher Foundation to support their continuing education and philanthropic work.
Presented by the Morgridge Family Foundation, the luncheon will take place in the Seawell Ballroom in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Tickets can be purchased by visiting afpcc.org.
About the organization: The Colorado chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is a membership organization dedicated to creating opportunities for fundraising professionals to grow professionally and advance their respective fields. The chapter hosts educational luncheons, networking happy hours, and special events, including the annual National Philanthropy Day Luncheon.
