News: With an abundance of packed powder already in place at Winter Park Resort, and another storm on the way, conditions are looking good for the 48th Wells Fargo Ski Cup, signature fundraiser for the National Sports Center for the Disabled.

The event – which is the longest-running professional ski race in the country –raises some $300,000 annually for the NSCD, one of the nation’s leading providers of adaptive outdoor recreation.

NSCD president and chief executive officer Julie Taulman notes that the 2024 edition begins with the World Disabled Invitational on Feb. 22, with the Corporate Challenge to follow on Feb. 23. Festivities conclude Feb. 24 with breakfast and a day of skiing.

The World Disabled Invitational, presented by Waner Construction, features professional athletes from around the world competing for cash prizes. The Corporate Challenge is the premiere race of the Wells Fargo Ski Cup and involves skiers and snowboarders from corporate teams who are competing for bragging rights and prizes. An athlete from the NSCD Competition Center races with each team, vying for cash prizes to help finance their training for the next Paralympics.

New this year is the Rendezvous Colorado Snow Boot Soiree on Feb. 23. Guests will board the resort’s gondola for a ride to the mountain’s summit for dinner and dancing.
