El Paso County commissioners to hold next meeting ‘on the road’ in southeast Colorado Springs

Residents will have two more opportunities to attend an El Paso Board of County Commissioners meeting in their voting district before the end of the year.

The board’s “Commissioners on the Road” program has scheduled one regular meeting within each of the five commissioner districts in 2023 with the intention of allowing residents to more easily access and engage with their elected officials within their own district. Commissioner meetings are normally held at Centennial Hall in downtown Colorado Springs.

Since the program launched in April, meetings have been held in Manitou Springs for District 3, the El Paso County Fair Grounds for District 2 and at Lewis-Palmer High School in Monument for District 1.

Residents of District 5, consisting largely of southeast and central Colorado Springs, and District 4, including Fountain, Fort Carson and the far southeastern plains of the county, are next to see a regular board meeting in their area.

The District 5 meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 9 a.m. at the Regional Development Center, located just east of Memorial Park.

The District 4 meeting will be held at Fountain City Hall in Fountain at 9 a.m. on Oct. 31.

The county commissioners recently redrew and adopted voting district boundaries after a four-month public input process.
