Arapahoe County launches Small Business Rent Rescue Grant Program

A new grant was announced Thursday by Arapahoe County officials that aims to assist small businesses struggling to pay rent.

The Small Business Rent Rescue Grant Program is open to businesses in Arapahoe County that are behind on their lease payments or have been forced to close due to COVID-19, according to a release from the county.

Grants of up to $100,000 will be awarded through direct payments to owners or landlords. Those who previously received funds through eligible grant programs may be reduced by that amount.

Additional requirements include operating in the county since Dec. 30, 2019, have 500 or fewer employees, provide proof of a loss of at least 25% of profit and be in good standing with regulatory agencies.

Applications are open through April 16 at 5 p.m. and can be made at www.arapahoegov.com/sbrf
