Chasten Buttigieg, the husband of Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, plans to campaign for his spouse in Denver this weekend, the campaign said.

Fresh off his spouse’s strong showings in the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, Chasten Buttigieg is scheduled to attend an event in Denver with a student group on Sunday afternoon and is slated to headline a fundraiser, also in Denver, Sunday night.

The Buttigieg campaign is pouring resources into Colorado and other states that vote on March 3, known as Super Tuesday, on the heels of finishing in a virtual tie for first place with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in Iowa and coming in second to Sanders in New Hampshire.

The Buttigieg campaign said Thursday that it’s sending staff to the state starting next week to support a network of volunteer organizers that has been in place since last year.

Chasten Buttigieg, 30, taught junior high at a Montessori Academy before campaigning full-time for his husband, the 37-year-old former mayor of South Bend, Indiana.

The “Chat with Chasten,” billed as a meet-and-greet with the Colorado Students for Pete group, is scheduled for 2:15-3:30 p.m. Sunday on the Metropolitan State University of Denver campus. The event, which will be closed to the press, is free, but the campaign is asking  people to sign up to attend.

Tickets to the fundraiser with Chasten Buttigieg range from $25 to $250, with an $18.35 price for veterans. It’s set for 6-8 p.m. at a location in Denver at a location that will be announced before the event, the campaign said.

Pete Buttigieg rallied a crowd of about 2,500 at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium in January before attending a private fundraiser in Denver later that night. He’s scheduled to hold a town hall in Aurora on Feb. 22.

Democratic presidential candidates and their surrogates are starting to descend on Colorado as voters receive primary ballots in the mail.

Delaware Sen. Tom Carper will campaign for former Vice President Joe Biden in Denver on Friday, and billionaire and former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg is set to open a field office Saturday morning in Wheat Ridge.

On Sunday, Sanders is set to rally supporters at the Colorado Convention Center. Biden is attending a private fundraiser in Denver on Monday.

On the Republican side, President Donald Trump plans to hold a rally in Colorado Springs with U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner on Thursday.
