Debbie Brown to succeed Jeff Wasden at the helm of the Colorado Business Roundtable

Debbie Brown will be the new president the Colorado Business Roundtable in January, succeeding Jeff Wasden, who is moving to Washington, D.C., Colorado Politics reported in October.

Brown is a well-known figure in Colorado public affairs as a business and political consultant for Amplify Strategies and Coloradans for Responsible Energy Development, among many campaigns and causes. She is a board member of the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce.

“Throughout all my work in Colorado, a common thread is my passion for economic public policy and opportunity,” Brown said in a statement. “When businesses flourish and produce jobs, families thrive. That’s why I’m so honored to be selected as the next president of the Colorado Business Roundtable. I’m eager to build upon the solid foundation left by Jeff Wasden and work with the board of directors and our allies to amplify our pro-business mission into 2020 and beyond.”

She was the top choice from an extensive search, the business advocacy organization said.

Roberta Robinette, the outgoing board chair, led the search committee.

“Debbie brings a wealth of policy knowledge and deep relationships that will help COBRT continue its voice as Colorado’s leading policy organization,” she said..

David Eddy was recently elected as the next board chair, beginning in 2020.

“Debbie is a fantastic hire that will allow COBRT to continue to advocate for business growth and pragmatic, positive pro-business policies,” said Eddy, who also was on the search committee. “She has a great perspective on her role and COBRT’s positioning as a leading business organization and how we can further strengthen our partnerships, forge new relationships and propel COBRT into the future.”
