Denver rents are 3% higher than last year

The Far Northeast Area Plan was adopted June 10 and encompasses the Montbello, Gateway/Green Valley Ranch, and Denver International Airport statistical neighborhoods. The plan centers around the idea that as the Aurora area grows, the Northeast will transform into the middle of a larger eastern suburban metro region. Three of the main goals are: to create opportunities based on the area's proximity to the airport and public transit, revise regulations for the benefit of schools and parks and attract mixed-use development and affordable housing.

Denver rents have dipped slightly since July, but are still 3% higher than this time last year, a new report from RENTCafe says.

The average rent in Denver for August of this year was $1,670, compared to the national average of $1,472, according to the report.

August rents were down 0.3% from July but still larger than August rents of 2018.

Boulder prices still top the list for Colorado cities with an average rent of $1,970, while Greeley has the cheapest average of $1,171.
