3 months after her resignation, former state lawmaker is back on Twitter
A former state legislator is back on Twitter after a three-month hiatus following her resignation this spring.
Rochelle Galindo, of the Greeley-area House District 50, abruptly announced her resignation from the statehouse on May 12, saying via a statement that “the allegations against me are false” without saying what the allegations were.
Police later confirmed that an investigation of the ex-lawmaker, who had been facing the threat of recall, was underway, stating in a May 23 news release that “citations have been issued” in connection with a case involving “unlawful acts.” According to documents obtained by Colorado Politics news partner 9News, those citations were issued for allegedly serving alcohol to a person under age 21 last year.
On Tuesday, Galindo was celebrating the last day of a five-day juice cleanse, tweeting, “I’m feeling great and started a new job yesterday!”

This weekend the former lawmaker made it clear that she’s not through with politics – at least not with tweeting about the topic. She threw shade at former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, tweeting a Denver Post article about the former brewpub owner trading his presidential ambitions for congressional ones.
“When did this dude start fighting for the people?” she tweeted. “More like he’s not done fighting for oil and gas interests and the obstruction of progress.”

Galindo ended her apparent Twitter hiatus on Aug. 4 with a tweet defending her legislative record.
“Say what you will about me, at least I had the courage to vote the right way and pass legislation that would prevent these kinds of tragedies,” she tweeted. “It’s time for more leaders to take action.”
She did not say what kind of tragedies she was referencing. However, a shooting in El Paso, Texas, the day prior resulted in the deaths of 22.
Also among former state lawmakers active on Twitter is Steve Lebsock, a Thorton Democrat expelled by the state House last year on a 52-9 vote after being formally accused of sexual harassment by five women.
As of last week, he appeared to be completing restoration work on a kitchen, painting some cabinets pink and others “glossy white.”
The week prior, he was harvesting cucumbers, according to another tweet.
