Rep. Ken Buck remains hospitalized in D.C area

U.S. Rep. Ken Buck remains hospitalized Thursday in Washington, D.C. after suffering from chest pains Wednesday.

The Windsor Republican was at a congressional baseball practice early Wednesday and was taken to an undisclosed hospital in the Washington, D.C. area.

Buck told Colorado Politics that he stayed in the hospital overnight but is “doing well.”

Buck, serving his third term representing the 4th Congressional District, also is chair of the Colorado Republican Party.

The annual bipartisan Congressional Baseball game is scheduled for June 26 at the Washington Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Proceeds go to a number of charities, including the Boys and Girls Clubs and the United States Capitol Police Memorial Fund, in gratitude to the officers who responded to the shooting at a Republican baseball game practice on June 14, 2017 that seriously injured Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana.

One of the three Capitol police officers attending the game as part of Scalise’s security detail also was wounded by the shooter and later recovered.
