Editorial: Great job, PCC
Pueblo Community College really gets it. Its leaders understand the value of students learning with their minds and hands as they prepare for a career.
For many years, PCC students have trained to be nurses and welders and air-conditioning experts – among numerous other trades. It means PCC students have had nearly on-the-job training, and that has meant the great majority of PCC graduates find jobs in their fields.
Recently, students in PCC’s culinary program won a bronze medal in the American Culinary Federation’s regional competition in Joliet, Ill. At the meet, elite five-person teams from across the country competed.
The PCC team, in its first regional skills competition, scored its highest score in an ACF event, with a 78.4 out of a possible 100.
