Al Gore to stump for Clinton, climate Monday in Boulder and Jeffco

Democrats can tune out the internet he invented and see Al Gore in person Monday in Colorado as he heats up the political climate for Hillary Clinton.

Her husband’s vice president and the former presidential candidate who lost a close one in 2000 will campaign in Boulder and Jefferson counties Monday, but the times and venues weren’t announced Sunday morning.

“At the events, Gore will discuss the urgent threat posed by climate change and lay out the high stakes of the election,” the media alert to the press said Sunday morning.

The press release continued: “Colorado already experiences numerous climate-related disasters, such as droughts, wildfires and flooding. Further, Colorado’s $13 billion outdoor recreation economy relies on preserving public lands and protecting the environment, which is endangered by a warming climate. Snowmelt and peak runoff have shifted up to four weeks earlier during the last 30 years, and projected warming is expected to result in further decline in spring snowpack, earlier snowmelt and runoff, and decreased summer river flows.”

Gore will talk about Clinton’s plan to reduce carbon emissions and “make America the clean energy superpower of the 21st century.”

People can show up anywhere at anytime in either county Monday. They can RSVP for Jefferson County here. For Boulder County they can RSVP here.
