Letter: Taxpayers, teachers should have praised Jeffco board

There were many of us bewildered and saddened by the recall that recently took place in Jeffco schools.

The very fact that the conservative board left Jeffco schools with an increase cash reserve of $55 million while also increasing teacher benefits by 8.8 percent should have been cause for praise from both taxpayers and teachers alike.

But in a world where “good” is called “evil” and “evil” is called “good,” and where “up” is called “down” and “down’ is called “up” — it no longer surprises me that citizens can be bamboozled.
