Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) mocked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s (R-GA) use of nude images of Hunter Biden by offering up a photo of Elon Musk as a “dick pic” during the first House DOGE subcommittee hearing.

The subcommittee under the House Oversight Committee, chaired by Greene, is designed to “fight the war on waste shoulder to shoulder with President Trump, Elon Musk and the DOGE team,” according to her. Democrats, during the hearing on improper payments and fraud, focused on Musk and his efforts with DOGE under the executive branch.

Garcia used his time to decry Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, saying lawmakers “should in no way be cooperating with House Republicans” with some of their efforts, including with regard to cutting the Department of Education.

However, the California Democrat also played off of Greene’s presentation of nude photos of former President Joe Biden’s son during a 2023 House Oversight Committee hearing when presenting what he called a “dick pic,” which was a normal photo of Musk and calling him, rather than Trump, the president.

“Now this, of course, we know is President Elon Musk. He’s also the world’s richest man. He was the biggest political donor in the last election. He has billions of dollars in conflicts of interest, and we know that he is leading a power grab also abided by and encouraged by Donald Trump and, of course, the Chairwoman, congresswoman Greene, but I also want to run through what DOGE actually is going to do,” Garcia said. “It’s a demolition plan that’s going to run through our government.”

Garcia took shots at Musk for wanting to “hurt people” while giving “it to themselves, their companies and their billionaire friends.” He also noted the young workers at Musk’s DOGE operation, referring to Kendrick Lamar’s song “Not Like Us” to note how young those staffers are.

“We also know, of course, that if Elon Musk is sending his unqualified DOGE staff to carry out this agenda across all these agencies, and in some cases actually, teenage staffers, no accountability, no experience, and problematic records. They’re trying to rob you, and they’re probably a minor,” Garcia said.

Rep. William Timmons (R-SC) chided Garcia for his use of time during the hearing immediately after, calling it “sad.”

“I find it sad that my colleagues across the office can’t take this seriously. We have $36 trillion in debt. We run an annual almost $2 trillion deficit,” Timmons said.
