Colorado County Clerks Association announces Matt Crane as new executive director

Former Arapahoe County Clerk Matt Crane will take over as the new executive director of the Colorado County Clerks Association, the association announced Thursday.

Crane served as the Arapahoe County clerk from 2013 to 2019. He has worked as an officer with the CCCA and as president in 2016.

Before 2013, Crane worked in the Colorado Secretary of State’s election division.

Crane will begin his position in January after the finalized resignation of Pam Anderson.

“I know I have some big shoes to fill,” Crane said.

Anderson was executive director for five years and previously served two terms as the Jefferson County clerk and recorder.

She will assist Crane with the role transition after her resignation.

“It is with a lot of mixed feelings that I have made the professional decision to resign to focus more on my consultant work in elections policy and administration,” Anderson said in her resignation email on Nov. 13.

“It has been so rewarding seeing the work with the election model we pioneered flourish and become a model for the entire country.”

CCCA President Tiffany Parker, the La Plata County clerk and recorder, said she is “excited and thankful” for Crane to fill the executive director position.

CCCA is a non-governmental entity formed in 1969, consisting of all 64 county clerks of Colorado.

County clerks conduct all primary, general and county elections, in addition to municipal and school district elections.

They also register voters, issue marriage licenses, record real estate transactions and more.
