Gov. Polis extends payments assisting Coloradans affected by COVID-19

Gov. Jared Polis on Saturday extended an executive order that has provided some extra dollars to Coloradans facing financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Coloradans who have filed for unemployment since March 15 and make less than $52,000 annually have benefited from these one-time stimulus payments of $375.

Polis announced on Oct. 30 that $168 million was being allocated for these payments through the state’s disaster relief funds and from over-budgeted sections of the state’s Medicare program.

The funds will remain available to Coloradans through Feb. 28.

Those who have been deemed ineligible for the state’s unemployment benefits but who have received assistance through federal funds also qualify for the one-time payment.
