Rep. Ken Buck’s rival plans Zoom show before ‘The Swamp’ airs on HBO

U.S. Rep. Ken Buck won’t have the Colorado stage to himself Tuesday night, as HBO runs the documentary “The Swamp,” partially narrated by the author, state Republican chairman and former Weld County district attorney.

His Democratic challenger, Ike McCorkle, will have his own show that night – on Zoom.

He will be joined by Alexandra Owensby, a Democrat running in Kentucky against one of the program’s other narrators, U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie.

They plan to take questions and talk about what it will take to unseat the respective Republicans, McCorkle’s campaign said Sunday.

The Democrats’ program starts at 9 p.m. and requires a registration, which you can make by clicking here.

“The Swamp” airs on HBO at 10 p.m., promising to “pull back the curtain on Washington politics,” through the eyes of “three renegade Republican congressmen” – Buck, Massie and Matt Gaetz of the Florida Panhandle.

Viewers are warned about adult content and adult language.

The directors, Daniel DiMauro and Morgan Pehme, were behind the 2017 Netflix documentary “Get Me Roger Stone” about the renegade Republican operative who was recently pardoned by President Trump before he could serve time for convictions on lying to Congress during investigation into Trump’s dealings with Russia and intimidating a witness.

Buck, like Gaetz, is a member of the House Freedom Caucus, some of the most conservative members of Congress. Buck also is the author of the new book, “Capitol of Freedom: Restoring American Greatness.”
