Sure, he was ranked 15th as a possible Democratic nominee in October, but in the cool, clear days of November, Colorado’s U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet didn’t even merit a mention Sunday when the Washington Post handicapped the horse race.

Yet, Bennet, who doesn’t face re-election for his Senate seat until 2022, fights on in the 2020 presidential race. He continues to poll near the bottom of the field and he won’t be anywhere near the stage for the next debates, unless he’s seated in the audience.

“Of all the names on this list, nobody polls worse than Bennet,” the Post’s Aaron Blake wrote on Oct. 11, before dropping Bennet and shortening his list of candidates Sunday.

In his last mention of Bennet’s position in the race in October, the Washington Post noted, “His $2.1 million raised in the third quarter is enough to keep the lights on, but without getting on the debate stage, for how long?”
