Anne Lee is the director of performance and practice excellence, and Sam Walker is volunteering with the title executive in residence.

“Both Anne Lee and Sam Walker bring legal expertise and innovative mindsets to the Department of Law,” Weoser said in a press release announcing the appointments. “They have successfully developed and implemented best practices at other top companies and will provide a fresh perspective to our office. They will play a key role in helping the Department of Law reach its full professional potential so that we effectively serve the people of Colorado.”

Lee comes from Hewlett Packard, where she was counselor for intellectual property transactions and “developed multiple new strategies and processes for the company,” the Attorney General’s Office said in a press release.

Lee was a senior associate at Wilmer Hale and an associate at Faegre Baker Daniels. She also has worked as a hardware product manager for Tendril Networks and as a market analyst at Ford Motor Co. She is president-elect of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Colorado and serves on the board of the Colorado Intellectual Property Inn of the Court. She also was vice chair of the American Bar Association Software and Cloud Computing Committee.

Walker held several federal posts in the George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush administrations. He most recently was the executive director of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment in the Hickenlooper administration, including as chair of the governor’s Workforce and Education Cabinet. Walker was the longest-serving chief legal officer for Molson Coors Brewing. The Attorney General’s Office noted that Walker “championed diversity” noting that Molson Coors received the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association’s Outstanding Corporate Commitment Award last year. He is a former partner at Wiley Rein & Fielding.
