Weiser town hall in Aurora will focus on social justice, consumer protections
For those not sure what an attorney general does, Saturday morning in Aurora is a chance to get wiser – with Phil Weiser, Colorado’s top cop.
State Sen. Rhonda Fields and Reps. Janet Buckner and Mike Weissman are putting on a town hall with the attorney general, a fellow Democrat, to talk about “local and state issues on public safety, criminal justice and consumer protections,” Fields said in a press announcement for the event.
Fields said the public will be encouraged to ask questions. The town hall begins at 10:15 a.m. at the Mission Viejo Library at 15324 E. Hampden Circle.
Since he took office in January, Weiser has been active on major issues, including gun laws, student loan debt, vaping, Dreamers and, on instruction from the governor and legislature, the high price of insulin.
A former University of Colorado Law School professor, Weiser worked in the Justice Department during the Obama and Clinton administrations.
