What CoPo’s John Ensslin meant to the Denver Press Club (VIDEO)
John C. Ensslin was the kind of guy you would want explaining the world — or at least explaining Denver politics to you.
He was smart, curious and kind.
The veteran journalist who covered our state for decades passed away at the age of 65.
Ensslin wrote for the Rocky Mountain News for 25 years. Then he went to New Jersey and covered news there.
But he came back to write for Colorado Politics and he participated in our 9News mayoral debates.
Ensslin for years was the driving force behind the Denver Press Club, where he’s being remembered.
Press Club President Dan Petty says the club is making plans for a tribute to Ensslin soon.
