Coloradoan: Thornton pipeline opponents lost the battle for the Poudre River decades ago

Douglas Road residents have waged a rapacious fight against the city of Thornton’s plan to run a water pipeline project under their main link to the rest of the world.

They’ve bought ads depicting Thornton’s proposed 48-inch pipeline as a massive conduit usurping a pristine Poudre River in its designated “Wild and Scenic” portion, which is miles northwest of the pipeline’s proposed route.
