Donna Lynne is putting some miles on her sneakers this campaign season, and she hopes the state’s main streets lead to the governor’s office.

The lieutenant governor walked the entire 26.5-mile length of Colfax Avenue in Lakewood, Denver and Aurora to kick off her Meet Me on Main Street tour a few weeks ago, and then walked the streets of Broomfield on the day of the Democratic General Assembly on April 14.

This weekend you can find her doing strolls in El Paso, Chaffee, Gunnison, Montrose and Mesa counties, her campaign said Thursday.

Lynne is running in a crowded Democratic primary with former state Treasurer Cary Kennedy, U.S. Rep. Jared Polis, who got on the ballot at the assembly.

Lynne and former state Sen. Mike Johnston petitioned their way on to the ballot.

Republicans also have four primary candidates: state Treasurer Walker Stapleton, former Parker Mayor Greg Lopez, along with businessmen Doug Robinson and Victor Mitchell.
