Organizers of the Colorado Springs Women’s March have changed the location of the rally due to extreme inclement weather.

The rally will be held Sunday at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 730 N. Tejon St., at 2 p.m. Participants will march from All Souls to Acacia Park in downtown Colorado Springs and back at 2:30 p.m.

“Ultimately, we decided it was more important that we minimize the risk to participants while still providing the opportunity for our voices to be heard loud and clear,” said Rev. Dr. Nori Rost, minister of All Souls and one of the event organizers.

This year’s event is titled “Me, Too: The Womxn’s RALLY in Colorado Springs” and recognizes the violence that marginalized populations, especially transwomen of color, experience in society.

Organizers held Women’s Marches around Colorado on Saturday, the one-year anniversary of President Donald Trump’s inauguration, including one in Denver that drew tens of thousands of marchers and marches in Pueblo, Carbondale, Grand Junction and Broomfield.

Sunday’s march in Colorado Springs falls one year after nearly 700 inaugural Women’s Marches around the world drew enormous crowds – with as many as 4 million participants, it ranks among the largest single-day demonstration in U.S. history, crowd experts say.
