The Pueblo Chieftain: From out of the cold

Baby, it’s cold outside! Yes, we’re in the dead of winter – a condition that is especially acute for the homeless who need some warmth and shelter.

That’s why nearly two dozen homeless men and women welcomed a respite from the cold as they entered a shelter that opened on the first day of the new year at the old Salvation Army building at 520 W. 13th St.

The sponsoring Pueblo Rescue Mission certainly lived up to its name, rescuing people in real need of a meal and someplace warm to sleep.
